Creating patios and paths

Guide
1

Prepare the area where Terram GroundSure is intended to be used. Remove any stones, weeds and roots, in some circumstances a weed killer may be needed. Smooth over and level the intended planting area with a rake.

Lay the Terram GroundSure ensuring the area covered is greater than the planned area. For larger areas, ensure there is an overlap of approximately 500mm (20"). Pin down and secure all overlapped edges.

Guide
2

Cover the Terram GroundSure with an even layer of MOT Type 1 subbase and rake level. Thourghly compact the subbase using a vibrating plate to a minimum thickness of 75mm.

Guide
3

Apply an even 50mm layer of slightly damp, course sharp sand and level, initially with a rake and finally with a spirit level.

Guide
4

Prepare a loose, medium strength 4:1 cement/sand mix.

Starting in one corner, place the first paving slab onto the course sharp sand and note the area it covers, then remove paving slab.

Place dab of cement to correspond with each corner of the paving slab and one in the middle. Replace the paving slab over the dabs of cement and level by tapping lightly with a rubber mallet.

Guide
5

Work outwards from the corner creating the desired pattern ensuring each paving slab is level before moving on to the next.

To create a permeable paving solution, lay the paving slabs with a 25mm gap and, once the cement has hardened, fill the gap with a decorative angular aggregate.
